Toast to Cider Hill Farm’s Cider Tastings



Along with apples, pumpkins, and donuts, Cider Hill Farm is known for its hard and non-alcoholic cider. Filled with a fruity taste from the first sip, our hard and sweet cider is a fan favorite. 


The History of Cider Hill Farm’s Hard Cider 


Our hard cider journey first made waves in 2012, when the Cook family established Cider Hill Cellars, planting the first hard-cider orchard that same year. The cidery officially opened in 2017 to the public. Our hard cider is fruit grown, harvested, and pressed on the 145-acre farm. Currently, there are about 10,000 fruit trees on the farm, with 1,000 of them specifically used for the hard cider-making process. 


At Cider Hill Farm, we also make sure that the cider process is sustainable and eco-friendly. "This cidery will only be as big as our orchards can support and our land can sustain,” says founder Chadd Cook. “In a rare position to create cider that is truly orchard to bottle, we can oversee 100% of the production process.” 


Where to Try Cider Hill Farm Cider


On Saturdays from 11 am - 4 pm and Sundays 12 pm - 4 pm, we offer an Outdoor Cider Bar, where you can grab a glass of cider on tap and listen to free live music from 12-3 pm. There are also additional, limited-edition ciders that aren’t bottled in the store. Ask Bar & Bottling manager Gregg Cook for Kingston Black and non-alcoholic sparkling options. And on the third Friday of every month from 4 - 6 pm, join us for free hard cider tastings inside the Farm Store featuring seasonal blends.


Our Wide Range of Hard Cider Blends


Bottles of hard cider blends at Cider Hill Farm are available daily from opening day in mid-April to closing day in mid-December. Choose from a variety of fruit-forward, semi-dry and fully dry ciders along with specialty dessert ice ciders. Customers must be 21+ years or older to purchase hard cider and minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all tastings. 


Spring


This is an award-winning, fully dry hard cider with a delicate body and crisp character created from a blend of heritage American apples. This fully dry blend has no residual sugar and a gentle sparkle. SPRING is a light cider that goes well with any meal. Because it’s dry and crisp, it naturally pairs with richer foods such as meat n' cheese boards, burgers and potato chips. SPRING has all the sparkly, dry qualities of Prosecco, so we love to blend it with fruit juices for cider mimosas. 8% ABV. 


Summer


SUMMER is an award-winning, light-bodied hard cider created with a blend of heritage American apples. SUMMER has a balanced sweetness and acidity with a flawless flavor. This fan favorite is semi-sweet with some residual sugar and gentle sparkle. SUMMER goes well with any meal but it naturally pairs with lean meats, savory or spicy foods such as roasted chicken, grilled fish, 

spicy wings, turkey burgers, summer slaw, tacos and BLTs. 8% AVB.


Autumn


Seemingly mild at first sip, AUTUMN has a gentle fruit flavor and low acidity but soon fills your mouth with soft tannins that linger long after you finish similar to red wine. This semi-dry cider has a full body and rich character. AUTUMN pairs well with acidic foods like chicken piccata, shrimp scampi, baked haddock with lemon, and Caprese salads or added to a meat n’ cheese board alongside pickled vegetables, mustards and sharp cheeses. 8% ABV.


Raspberry Harvest 


It takes 1 lb. of our raspberries along with a blend of heritage American apples to make 1 bottle of this award-winning cider. A sip starts with a sweet burst of rich fully ripened raspberries followed by a refreshing tartness. RASPBERRY HARVEST is excellent with appetizers or with marinated proteins and fattier meats such steak, brisket and pork chops. Excellent with dark chocolate after dinner. 8% ABV. 


Strawberry Harvest


It takes over 2 lbs. of our strawberries along with a blend of heritage American apples to make 1 bottle of this award-winning cider. A sip starts with a sweet burst of rich fully ripened strawberries followed by a light apple and berry tartness. STRAWBERRY HARVEST is excellent with appetizers and decadent dishes like pasta in a cream sauce, chowders or sausages with pepper n’ onions. Excellent with ice cream for dessert. 8% ABV. 


Cherry Harvest


It takes over 2 lbs. of our cherries along with a blend of heritage American apples to make 1 bottle. A sip starts with a sweet burst of rich fully ripened cherries followed by a light apple and berry tartness. CHERRY HARVEST pairs naturally with holiday favorites including roast duck, turkey, brisket and ham. Excellent with cheese n’ crackers, on charcuterie boards or with milk chocolate after dinner. 8% ABV. 


Winter 


WINTER is a cider variety known as a frost cider. Time-consuming and labor-intensive to make, 

fresh pressed cider is frozen and then thawed slowly producing an intensely rich juice. By fermenting this carefully over many months, we create WINTER. There are 20 apples inside each bottle. WINTER is both intensely sweet and tart with a depth of flavor that cannot be matched by any other cider and will improve for several years in the bottle. WINTER is dessert in itself. 12.5% ABV.


Bourbon Barrel Aged Winter


Aged in Kentucky Bourbon barrels, this limited edition frost cider has a rich aroma of butterscotch, vanilla, and caramel apples with depth of flavor to match. Spice and tannin from the oak along with barrel-forward flavor and a mild tartness to the finish make this a cider to be savored. There are 20 apples in each bottle, and it will improve with age for several years. As a decadent, sweet frost cider, BOURBON BARREL AGED WINTER is dessert in itself. 12.5% ABV.


Ship Hard Cider


Send hard cider through our online store beginning September through mid-December to celebrate the harvest season, Thanksgiving and winter holidays. Customize your selection of bottles or choose from curated boxes, such as our Farmhouse Collection, which brings all the seasons together in one box.

If you’re looking for a more sweet cider that’s non-alcoholic, look no further than our classic sweet and sparkling apple ciders. 


Sweet Apple Cider


Our farmers press apples to produce our award-winning sweet cider that we also use in our popular donuts. This apple cider is available right after Labor Day, the minute we begin pressing summer apples through the end of the farm season in mid-December. You can even watch our cider crew press and bottle this cider every Thursday!


Non-Alcoholic Sparkling


This celebratory non-alcoholic drink is made and bottled on the farm solely using the apples you’ll find in our orchard. You can locate this cider in the refrigerator section of the farm store and on tap at our cider bar.
