What to expect when you arrive
Cider Hill Farm is located at 45 Fern Ave in Amesbury, MA. just minutes from downtown, we are an easily accessible destination. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by views of a large hill on which we grow some of our fruit. There is ample parking available across the street from the farm. Parking is free, and the fun begins when you walk the short distance to our front door!
Depending on the day you will either purchase your bags in our farm store, Monday-Friday or at our information shed outside, Saturday & Sunday. There is no ATM on site, but we do accept VISA and MasterCard both inside and out!
Our farm stand is handicapped accessible, and there is a handicap parking space located right in front. One of our orchards is located close by, however it is still on an incline. Upon checking in, our farm store associates will be happy to help with specific directions and suggestions. We don’t have restrooms in our Farm Store, but we offer several port-a-potties that are cleaned and maintained constantly. There is also a sink for hand-washing located outside.
Right now, we are open from 8AM-6PM with apple picking everyday. Whether you want to pick your own, shop our farm store, or have fun with your little ones, come and spend the day with us! We’d love to have you!
What we offer
There are ample activities to keep you and your loved ones entertained at Cider Hill Farm. Nearly 70 acres of our 145-acre farm offer pick-your-own crops, some of which are grown on a large hill. We offer hayrides throughout the seasons, typically on weekends. Not only do they provide assistance to those who may need help reaching the hill for picking, but your little ones will love the ride!
Our picking schedule changes with the seasons, but we offer a wide range of produce inside our Farm Store. Veggies, meat, dairy products, baked goods, we have it all! We know you’ll love our famous cider donuts, as well as our pastries and baked goods. All are made in-house and are available fresh for you to take home. Our employees are happy to help you find what you need!
We have just added a new addition to the farm, The PitchFORK. Our new food trailer features ice cream blended with our own farm fruit, fresh squeezed lemonade and lunch options. The most popular item by far has been our Cider Donut Ice Cream!
For the kids
Aside from produce, we also have livestock that lives on our farm. To the left of our Farm Store, a large area is devoted to housing our chickens. Though their space is separated by chicken wire, children (and adults!) are encouraged to treat them to the chicken feed we have stored in designated quarter-operated machines. We also have 2 personality filled goats near our chicken coop. In the middle of the animal area, we have tire swings and picnic tables that all are welcome to enjoy!
If you venture past the animal area, you will find yourself at our Giant Sandbox and Farmer Glenn’s Trike Yard. Tricycles are provided to ride around large hay bales, and toys are situated for digging in the sand. Here, kids are encouraged to play, ride, climb, and build! We’re sure that your little ones will have a blast! We also have a corn maze in the fall!
Last but not least, we have a bee observatory located in our Farm Store right by the baked goods! Kids can watch the bees up close and learn how they contribute to our farm.
For the adults
Aside from our sweet and savory treats, Cider Hill offers a wide range of products. Cider, local honey, Jams and Jellies, and baking mixes to name a few. We also have locally-poured soy candles, plant based gourmet soaps, kitchen and home accessories as well as garden décor. Whether it’s a gift you’re looking for or a treat for yourself, we guarantee that you will enjoy browsing!
Did we mention our cellars?
We currently offer 2 varieties of hard cider, Spring – a dry cider and Summer – a semi-sweet cider. We are preparing to release our next batch very soon, a raspberry cider. We offer tastings in our farm store on Fridays from 2-5PM and Saturday/Sunday from 12-5PM. Our farm allows us to create cider that is genuinely from orchard to bottle, and we can’t wait for you to try it!
What to bring
We strongly suggest that you wear comfy shoes when visiting Cider Hill, especially while picking your own fruit. If you plan to be out for a while, you may want to bring water. Depending on the weather, sunblock may be a good idea as well.
We look forward to seeing you!
