1978
Ed & Eleanor Cook
Eleanor and Ed Cook, Glenn's parents, purchase Battis Dairy Farm.
1981
Karen & Glenn Cook
Karen & Glenn marry, purchase Vedrani Poultry Farm adjacent to Battis Dairy Farm to begin Carriage Town Orchards.
1981
Honeymoon Orchard
Karen & Glenn planted their 1st apple trees in what is still known as our honeymoon orchard.
1984
Beehives Established
Happy hives happy farm.
1986
First Cider Donut Sold
Carriage Town Orchards Farm Store opens and 1st cider donut sold.
1987
17,000 Chickens
Carriage Town Orchards chicken flock reaches 17k hens and roosters.
1992
Farms Merge
Cider Hill Farm and Carriage Town Orchards merge to create the 145 acre farm we know today.
1993-1997
#1 Sweet Cider
Fresh pressed apple cider awarded best in Massachusetts 4 out of the 5 years
1992
Market & CSA Pioneer
Cider Hill Farm brings fresh produce to area farmer's markets and launches CSA farm share programs.
1995
PBS
1st appearance on PBS Victory Garden. PBS came back Fall '23 to film for '24 Season 8 of Weekends with Yankee.
2007
Wind Power
1st of the 3 wind turbines installed.
2009
Going Solar
1st of 840 solar panels installed.
2012
1st Hard Cider Orchard
The first of 3 hard cider orchards planted for next generation farmers. 1k of our 10k fruit trees are dedicated to hard cider making.
2017
Cider Hill Cellars Est.
Karen & Glenn's younger son, Chadd Cook, begins producing 100% orchard hard cider.
2018
Hard Cider Takes Gold
Just 1 year after starting, Cider Hill Cellars takes gold and best in show awards in the world's large int'l competition.
2019
Jenny Named GM
Jenny Durocher named General Manager of Cider Hill Farm.

60k Tulip Bulbs Planted
Our crew planted 60k bulbs in preparation for our 1st annual Tulip Fest
2020
Cultivating Food Security
Cultivated new land for the future of and added 250+ extra CSA shares providing safe food access during the pandemic.
2021
Named #1 Apple Picking Spot in the US
The farm celebrates it's 40th anniversary and named the #1 apple picking spot in the United States by Yelp.
2022
Named #4 Most Beautiful Farm to Visit in the World
The Travel lists Cider Hill Farm among the top 10 farms to visit in the world.
2023
The Battis Room Opens
The farm builds a relaxed, casual space for social and corporate gatherings named after the Battis Farm that once stood in its location.

600 Cherry Trees Planted
A new cherry orchard is planted for pick-your-own cherries coming 2026.
