Surrounded By Health and Old-time ambiance
What would a New England farm be without a farm store? At Cider Hill Farm, we take great pride in ours.
Housed in a beautifully restored 150-year old ‘pegged’ dairy barn, our Farm Store re-captures the atmosphere of a time gone by.
The first thing that will strike you even before you set foot in our Farm Store is the aroma of fresh apple cider donuts wafting out to greet you. Not only are our delicious donuts available for you to purchase and enjoy, you can also watch us make them right on the premises.
Why, on some days, you may get the chance to see us grading apples or even pressing cider.
Of course, all the fruits and vegetables we grow at the farm are available at our store as well. Our selection includes over 65 varieties of our very own apples. We also bake our own fruit pies, tea breads, muffins, breads and pastries.
We have honey from our own bee hives, which you can watch in operation at our live bee observatory.
We also stock Amesbury tapped maple syrup, and lots of crafts and gift items created by local artisans.
In addition, you can choose from a wide assortment of Cider Hill Farm Brand jams, jellies, apple butter and crisp mixes, as well as specialty meats and cheeses, Stonewall Kitchen gourmet foods, kitchen linens, pottery and much, much more.
Be sure to periodically check our crop schedule to see when you can drop by and pick your own strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peaches, plums, nectarines, apples and pumpkins.
Produce
Most of the produce sold in our farmstore comes directly
from our Amesbury soils, and there is no comparison to the taste and quality of locally grown. It is nearly impossible to buy a peach, or tomato at a supermarket that has the juiciness, the flavor of one we pick that day at the peak of maturity. The lettuce will last for a week in your refrigerator. The corn tastes like it was just picked, because it was. We also have varieties you will not find in big stores. Have you ever seen a Zesta, a Sansa, or a Arkansas Black apple?
I rest my case.
Bakery
Our bakery becomes a centerpiece during the Fall, when everyone has hot apple cider donuts on their brains. We work hard to keep our donut lovers happy.
Sometimes the line goes right out our door, because everyone wants them right off the line. We also bake pies, muffins, cookies, apple crisp, bars, scones and breads. Pretty much whatever you want.
Honey
Our honey has excellent flavor, made from nectar gathered from millions of flowers within a 2 mile radius of our farm. Our beekeeper, Ben Chadwick, takes special care of our bees, and keeps our honey separated from his other bee yards.
CANDY
We have a nice selection of fudge and candies, many made
in our local area.
Crafts and Gifts
Gail has a great eye for items appropriate for our store, and has pulled together
a very interesting line up of gift items, many coming from local artisans.
Cider
Our cider is one of our key note products. Still un pasteurized, we produce a cider that is as flavorful, fruity and aromatic as any you have ever tasted.
It is simply in a class of its own.
