School Tour Program

Cider Hill Farm conducts apple picking and pumpkin picking school tours for children in the pre-school to 3rd grade age group. These tours consist of a hay ride, the picking activity of choice, a maze adventure, and refreshments. The nominal time for each tour is one hour, but groups larger than 55 are usually scheduled for more time. To obtain more detailed information, click here, and to arrange for your own tour, please send an email inquiry to:

tours@ciderhill.com or use the Reservation Request Form

Please include your name and your preferred e-mail contact address; the name, address and phone number of the school or organization you are representing; and some information about the size and age of the group you would like to bring to the farm, as well as the preferred time and date of your tour.

To assist in your planning and tour time date request, please refer to the calendars shown below. The colored letters in each date box represent, from left to right, the tour start times of 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 in the morning and 1:00 in the afternoon.

We normally do not schedule tours to start at 12:00 but use that time slot as a carryover period for the extra large groups that we recommend for an 11:00 start.

The tour times that remain available are represented by a green A, while the times already taken are marked with a red X. We will try to update these calendars on a daily basis, and will prioritize reservation requests according to the time of their receipt.

Apple picking conditions generally remain excellent through the middle of October, and, most years, will hold up well until the last week of October.  However, there have been seasons in which there were not enough low-in-the-tree apples for the children to pick during the last two weeks of October and we have had to substitute apple picking from a bin in the orchard instead of picking from the trees.
